• 10 million people visit downtown for various events annually.
• The City of Phoenix and the State of Arizona have invested more than $3 billion in commercial projects and infrastructure.
• The newly completed $1.4 billion Metro Light Rail transit system is exceeding ridership projections in its first months of operation. Over 1 million people use the light rail every month. There are four light rail stops within one block of the site.
• The population in the primary trade area is 460,100 and is expected to increase to 573,365 by 2015.
• The population in the total trade area is 1,612,200 and is expected to increase to 1,996,900 by 2015.
• Daytime population within one mile of the site stands at 63,749 and is expected to grow to 71,454 by 2012.
• Within two miles of the site, there are 131,525 employees. This figure is expected to reach
134,594 by 2012.
• The Phoenix Convention Center completed a $600 million expansion in 2008, which is expected to increase the number of delegates from 135,000 to 400,000 in 2009. Over 7,000 people will be "living" in downtown Phoenix each week.
• Arizona State University's $250 million downtown campus enrolled 8,400 students by the end of 2008, with 15,000 students expected by 2015.
• 6.4 million visitors come to downtown to visit sports, museums and theater venues each year.
