Expansion complete
The Phoenix Convention Center completed a $600 million expansion in 2008, which is expected to increase the number of delegates from 135,000 to 400,000 by 2009. An average of 7,000 people will be "living" in downtown Phoenix each week. * The $600 million expansion of the Phoenix Convention Center will triple in size, offering nearly 900,000 square feet of rentable space and more than 2 million square feet total. * Phase One, the West Building, was completed in July 2006. Phase Two, the North Building, was completed in December 2008 and was ready for business in January 2009. |
